Alexis’ wanderlust began as a child, accompanying her family on business trips around the world. When visiting her father’s scientific friends, who hosted home-cooked dinners and shared their favorite haunts, she cultivated an appreciation for personalized travel. For her, traveling isn‘t about chain hotels or checklists, but intimate journeys that embrace a sense of place. By tasting regional cuisine, wandering off the beaten path, and conversing with locals, she immerses herself in new cultures. As a Libra, her travels are a balance between two worlds: of luxury and rustic, of urban and rural, of mountains and beaches.
Some snapshots of her adventures include climbing Mayan temples in Tikal, Guatemala, awaking to baboons jumping on her roof in Kruger National Park, South Africa, witnessing killer whales on the hunt for seals off Orcas Island, Washington and scrubbing in the sulfur pools on the island of Stromboli, in Sicily.
Her culinary passions are fed on each voyage. Green-lipped mussels on the beach in Koh Samui, steak tartare tossed tableside in Paris, nightly caipirinhas in Rio, LP-size pancakes in Amsterdam, biscuits in Nashville, hearty Bull‘s Blood wine in Eger, and exotically-spiced tagines in Marrakesh.
