A freelance television producer and writer, Jessica Stedman Guff worked at ABC News for nearly thirty years. She was named executive producer of ABC News NOW in June of 2007. As executive producer, she oversaw the editorial content and production of ABC News’ 24-hour digital network, which is available to 38 million subscribers across cable, broadband and mobile. At ABC News NOW Ms. Stedman Guff launched a third hour of “Good Morning America” entitled “Good Morning America NOW.” Before joining ABC News NOW, she was senior broadcast producer of ABC News’ “Good Morning America,” responsible, since September 2004, for all editorial content in the second hour of the morning news program.
While at “GMA,” Ms. Stedman Guff received an Emmy Award for “Best Morning Show” and was instrumental in the implementation of many series highlighting the latest in medical, consumer and financial news, as well as important “news you can use” segments for viewers across the country.
Prior to “GMA,” from August of 1997, Ms. Stedman Guff was the Emmy Award-winning senior producer of ABC Daytime’s “The View,” and was intimately involved in the launch of the breakout talk show. In addition to this, she worked closely with Barbara Walters and produced various segments for “The Barbara Walters Specials,” including “The Ten Most Fascinating People.”
From 1988-1997, Ms. Stedman Guff worked with Barbara Walters at her production company, Barwall, Inc. There she produced “Barbara Walters: 20 Years at ABC,” a 90-minute primetime special, as well as segments of The Barbara Walters Specials and “The Ten Most Fascinating People,” an annual Barbara Walters primetime special which launched in 1994.
In addition to producing, Ms. Stedman Guff has interviewed such luminaries as South African President Nelson Mandela and astronaut Shannon Lucid for various Barbara Walters specials.
In 2003 Ms. Stedman Guff executive-produced two primetime specials for ABC -- “Fat Like Me: How to Win the Weight War,” which was awarded both the 2004 Gracie and Peggy Awards for Best News Special, and “Sleep: How to Get the Rest of Your Life.”
Ms. Stedman Guff is a native New Yorker and resides in Greenwich, CT and Nantucket, MA with her husband and two children.
