tours included, or you can purchase them separately. At night, you can search the skies for the Northern Lights, which I was lucky enough to see while there. There are also two restaurants on site.
Anything else?
I’d say skip the shuttle and grab the sled. The Ice Hotel offers the option to hit the ground running by taking a dog sled through the wilderness to the hotel. They’ll meet you at the airport, supply you with arctic gear, and transport your bags. Twelve dogs pulled my sled through the tall pines and white landscape of the Swedish wilderness, stopping half way in a heated cabin for a cup of hot lingonberry juice and moose stew. I thought it was a fantastic way to emerge in the lifestyle (snowmobiles are the most prominent form of transportation amongst locals, but dog sleds are also used) and to set the mood for a few days of adventure. If you’d rather settle in after the travel day, you can always do a dog sled for another day or for the return to the airport (http://book.icehotel.com/en/events?filter=c%3D21294%2C21665). Price per sled (4 people) from the airport will cost $922 (http://book.icehotel.com/en/event/a395032/dog-sled-to-kiruna-airport/booking?filter=c%3D21294%2C21665)
