city and the way it expands out. I had the chance to eat at the Sky City restaurant, which has recently stepped up their game (the food apparently used to be not so good). Not the case anymore – I had a good experience with the revamped menu – and the dining room still rotates. Fair warning it is pricey at $40-$60 an entrée, but it’s one of those “one in a lifetime” things. For more info, visit http://www.spaceneedle.com/restaurant/menu.html. I stayed at the Vintage Park Hotel at 5th and spring, within walking distance of Pikes Market, the river, and many restaurants. I enjoyed my corner room that had a view of the river, and they have complimentary wine social in the afternoon featuring Washington wines. Visit http://www.hotelvintagepark.com/. Tip: Instead of taking a $40-$50 cab from the airport, jump on the Link Light Rail for a few dollars – it will drop you off two blocks from the hotel (FYI you’ll have to walk up a steep hill, but you can always catch a cab from there if necessary – it’s an easy two-block fare). .... |
