the world. Each restaurant offers authentic ethnic menu selections of delectable dishes and concoctions and top shelf spirits and wines. On our first night we sampled:
El Mexicano
This contemporary eatery serves up traditional Mexican cuisine and is known for its connoisseur offerings of hard to find tequilas. It’s open daily for dinner from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and the dress code is casual for dinner.
We all thought that eating family style was fun and especially enjoyed the rib eye tacos sautéed with onions and garlic served with guacamole and Pico de gallo.
It wouldn’t have been a Mexican feast for me without a Dos Equis to wash down the bursting flavor from all the spices. It tasted so good and made me feel like I was truly living the Mexican lifestyle like a native. On our second night we all headed to:
Rosato
We all love Italian food in my household. Especially pizza! Rosato also offers seventy other authentic Italian gourmet dishes too. It’s can be a casual place to break bread with the family or an intimate escape to escape with someone special for a fine dinning experience.
Our Italian culinary adventure at Rosato started with a traditional pizza pie that was baked in the oven to perfection and not to crispy. My kids got a little more adventuresome and decided to sample the Milanese Risotto with me too. It had a saffron risotto with julienne vegetables and tomato coullise. Everyone enjoy it. I especially liked that I could order with my meal a bottle of premium Meritage red wine from Australia. It had a smooth finish and went perfectly with my main entree.
Children from 5 to 12 years old can dine before 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m. only children 13 years old up are allowed. The restaurant does not have high chairs for children and there is no access for baby-strollers. The dress code is casual elegant. For our final night we all wanted to have some sushi and made a reservation at:
Kalmia Asian Restaurant
You’ll be impressed by the panoramic views of the Ocean from the oversized picture windows at Kalmia. It’s a casual place and is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. We decided it would be cool to experience eating at the sushi bar and ordered Misoshiru soup and sautéed shrimp with red curry sauce. The tuna and California rolls were what you’d expect back home in the states. The best part of the meal was dessert! We all had a healthy portion of the fried ice cream with a strawberry glaze. It was like a pastry puff filled with vanilla ice cream. It was scrumptious and a fun.
Buffet Options
During the day the resort offers several different buffet and snacking options with extended hours so even the late sleeper or afternoon napper won’t miss out. Not ready for a full meal? Pop into the cafe' for a sweet roll and a skim latte or check out the two snack bars by the pool. Their fish tacos and burgers we’re out go to favorites.
