Where hospitality is fine art.

The village of Southport Connecticut is the quintessential New England setting. Picture perfect. The stately Greek revival mansions that overlook the harbor seem like they’ve been transported from yesteryear. Time has stood still here for a long time.
If you’re traveling up the Eastern Seaboard and you would like ease into this bucolic setting for an overnight or extended stay, then the Delamar hotel with it’s 44 luxury guest rooms and fully equipped suites is the only ticket in town!
Conveniently Located
What we like best about the Delamar is that it can be reached easily by train or town car service from midtown Manhattan within one hour. Taking the train is fun and you can easily get off at the Metro North sration in Southport, CT. This stop is within walking distance of the hotel.
King Deluxe Room
Each room at the Delamar Southport is uniquely furnished. Our room was a spacious Deluxe King. The decor was classic New England with contemporary touches. It came appointed with a stately four-post bed with down pillows and a small chair and ottoman set. The walls, art deco mirrors, dresser drawers and floors in many of the rooms are hand painted in faux treatments. Stunning!
The bath had marble floors and a beautiful sink that was built into a custom piece of fine cabinetry. The maple mirror with Pineapple crest complemented the vanity below perfectly. The soaking tub and shower combination was accented by marble as well. No stone had been left unturned in appointing the space. We especially liked the fine Italian linens and bath products.
The triple pane noise reduction glass blocked out the hum of Interstate I-95 like a charm. No issues here regarding any of the rooms facing the interchange. Complimentary WiFi is broadcast thought the hotel and reception was excellent in my room.
Extended Stays
If you’re in town for an extended stay the Executive One Bedroom Suites have everything you’ll find at home to make your stay feel like you’ve never left. Including a washer and dryer! That would have come in handy during super storm Sandy. To inquire about a long term stay with Delamar Southport, please call 203-307-4221.
Bicycle to the Beach
One really cool amenity that’s thoughtful and fun is complimentary bicycle service. Guests can head to the beach in the summer. Hop on one of their classic cruiser bikes and peddle to Sasco Hill Beach or Southport Beach. If you like the outdoors please don’t miss out on this adventure and don't forget to stop in and try the fish taco at Kings at Southport beach. It’s amazing.
So You’re an Auto Buff?
Delamar owner operator Charles Mallery collects cars. To say he’s passionate about them is an understatement. One interesting thing about the Delamar is the eclectic modern art collection that’s hung throughout the common areas in the hotel. Many of the paintings are of classic car related scenes by Steven Vaughan that really make you think. They are for sale too. My favorite painting was located in the day spa and depicted a monochromatic classic Mercedes entitled 'Benz and Roses', 48' x 72' . Pricing is available upon request.
