The Migis Lodge is nestled on 135 acres amongst some of the oldest majestic second growth pines on the shores of Sebago Lake in Maine. Migis' heritage dates back to the native Penobscot Indians and the translation means the happy camping ground. It's Adirondack lodge style architecture dates back to the Golden Age of great camps. As we meandered up the quarter mile access road you could smell the hardwood crackling from the 35 luxury cabins. The tall pines and the lakeside setting immediately brought me back to childhood memories of camping in New England and family campfires in Yosemite National Park with my family. Happy times! Come along and join us on a luxury camp summertime escape. Let the kids go free and explore. Try your hand at water skiing, fishing and then enjoy or kicking back on your deck before heading up for romantic diner for two. Its ok... The in-house babysitting staff will take care of the kids while you're having fun too.
My Room The country style king bed faced the fireplace and had peeking views of the lake through the canopy of pines. All the guestrooms in the main lodge have a fireplace and a deck with Adirondack chairs and panoramic views of the lake. My rustic bathroom had a large vanity sink with plenty of storage and shower/tub combination. The WiFi in the room worked great and the wireless umbrella covers the entire property! The use of cell phones is restricted in MOST areas, but encouraged in and around your cabin. It's best to use your vibrate mode in this tranquil setting.

Happy Hour
Dining at Migis Our starter was a fresh Tuna Tartar and a chilled berry banana soup to neutralize our pallets. The hydroponic lettuce (grown in mineral water) with tomato and fresh mozzarella salad drizzled with cranberry walnut vinaigrette dressing was delicious. I had to indulge in a steamed Maine lobster and baked potato. After all, this is Maine! Just when I thought I could not possibly have one more bite of food, I finished a piece of moist cheesecake smothered in sweet cream cheese frosting. Yum. This five-course at first seemed like it could be to much but, the portions were just right and delicious. The family style setting arrangement also added to the festive ambiance and made the overall experience delightful. In the dining room, breakfast is served 8:00 am - 9:30 am, lunch 12:30 pm -1:30 pm and dinner 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm (jackets required). There is a separate dining room for children.
