Next Wednesday (1/18), I will embark on another week-long Mexican journey, this time to the eastern part to check out three hotels in the Cancun/Riviera Maya : Maya Palace Deluxe, Costa Cancun, and Tucancun Beach.

I had a really comfortable stay at the Affinia Manhanttan on Monday night (located at the corner of 31st and 7th). 

I was in town to meet up with a few old friends (and to check out the city), and the spacious common room with a desk, couch, and coffee table was perfect for hanging out during downtime (while we rested our wallets). 

It's hard to say what was so relaxing about the room - I think the whole thing just came together really nice. It was very easy on the eyes, soft colors and subtle yet enticing artwork decorating the walls. Not shown in the photos is a small room off to the side with a microwave drawer, gas burners, teapot, refrigerator, and glassware.

A similar room will run you approximately $200 during the week, a bit more on weekends (check here for specific rates).
