Views Dominate at Barcelo Karmina Pres Suite
One of the perks of being in the "cast" of a promotional video (or attending a press trip) is getting to see/tour the best a resort has to offer.
We were filming in the Presidential Suite at the Barcelo Karmina Palace (Manzanillo) for half a day - which meant we got to put our feet up and take in the stunning views.
Funny story: I actually spent about an hour of that time snoozing in one of the bedrooms off the main room - apparently the makeup did not agree with my face and I had an allergic reaction.
The day before my eyes had started to itch, and when I woke up that morning they were swollen and red. A Mexican Benadryl later I was no longer behind the wheel - I was loopy and totally out of it.
I couldn't drink for a day (the medicine) and I was forced to stay out of the sun (the swollen eyes) - not a good thing to tell a travel writer - but the process did its trick and I was able to continue the shoot (my eyes still sort of itch, though, to be perfectly honest).
My warped state of mind prevented me from fully appreciating the beauty of this particular room that day (although I give the bed a nice review), but the photos seem to have captured it rather well.
FYI The building with the cone-shaped straw roof in the distance is Agave - the Mexican restaurant on-site at Barcelo Karmina Palace. I'll have photos and a story in the coming days - I was blown away by the ambiance.
